1106 posts 		Is the following function something that is available across any simulation or is it simulation specific?

In the timetable editor, under the Misc tab you have the following: (Always phone on entry - Uses description field), how do you get it to work because I've tried it in a timetable to try out the function and it is ticked but trains enter without phoning up first.

I know in some timetables and simulations, the trains do phone on entry so how do you force a timetable to use this function?

3923 posts 		Are you applying it to a schedule that's a repeating shunt move? The option is within the 'shunt options' box, so won't apply if it's a normal schedule.

No, def not a shunt move but a standard schedule. Was hoping to get Peterborough Yard as a entry point to call up offering a train.

I know if the Nene CS call is ticked than you have to call the shunter there before routing trains to them as per manual but I was rather hoping that elsewhere for entry locations that make sense eg the various yards and sidings that if this option was ticked than as the signaller you would get the call to say it was ready for departure but this doesn't seem to something that is yet possible?

As to the shunt options, I've looked at that and that looks complicated

3923 posts 		Whether or not a phone call is received on entry is set up on a location-by-location basis to reflect real-life working arrangements, if you don't get a call in sim the real signaller probably doesn't either. Worth noting in this specific instance that Peterborough Yard is (or certainly was) controlled by Eastfield signalbox so it's more akin to a normal fringe location than a yard.

The option exists to suppress that call for shunt moves (which are usually moves to a headshunt and back to simulate internal depot moves which briefly encroach onto track controlled by the signal box), which again in real life may be excepted from the requirement to phone.
