Can anyone help me please?

I've got 6E90 sitting in Dunbar loop, with the signal off in the correst diretion and get the above message on the status screen. What do i have to do to "give the authority to move" please? I can't find any reference in the manual.

[I shouted "right away driver" at the screen, but that didn't work.... :)]

Thanks

Neil

6E90 has some activities to be completed a Dunbar. It has to detach it's loco (0E90) which runs out of the station to Signal ED501 ("Dunbar North (REV)"), turns around, runs via the Main Line to Signal ED492 and then up to Signal ED486 ("Dunbar South (REV)"then from Shunt Signal ED815 into Dunbar platform to rejoin the train, completing the run round procedure.

When I tested this the first thing I observed was having to use the new Track Circuit Override feature to signal 0E90 back into Dunbar station loop. I also had to reverse train 6E90 (which is the wagons) for the join to occur.

Having waited for the join to complete (a message appears confirming this has occurred) I noticed the train list showing train 6E90 waiting for right away at Dunbar (or something like that) so I signalled it as booked from Signal ED494 to Signal ED486 and it departed as per normal.

As I wasn't able to accurately recreate the problem you describe, I have to ask the following questions;

Have you waited for the train to divide?
Have you complete the run round move?
Have you waited for the two trains (0E90 = Loco | 6E90 = Wagons) to join?
Have you checked the Train List itself to make sure the train is actually ready to depart?

I do wonder if you have missed the listed 'Activities' at Dunbar, which must be completed as the train is locomotive hauled and so the loco is required to 'run round' to the other end of the train to haul the train in the opposite direction from when it entered the area.

Hope this helps.

The driver needs to reverse his train in section, this requires the driver to call you in that menu he will report waiting for authority to proceed, once authorizastion is given signal as normal.

I believe the driver requires authority to move as after completing the run-round the train is outside the sighting distance of the (up) signal, and as Jsun says is changing direction in a section. Just wait for the driver to call in, then give him permission.

It could be that if the TT was edited for 6E90 to arrive as "near end stop", the run round may be completed within sight of the signal. It might need a small adjustment of the exact stopping postion to allow space for the re-joining loco behing the signal.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Thanks for all the help, people.

Yes, I did the run round no problem and yes, the loco had recoupled to the train.

I'll re - start my savegame and wait for the driver to phone.
