South Humberside fringes with Holton-le-Moor on the line from Barnetby to Lincoln. This line is double track throughout without any passing places between Barnetby and Lincoln, making regulation of freight important. Holton-le-Moor itself has a lever frame and a mix of semaphore and colour light signalling. The line is signalled using absolute block and has several crossings monitored by Holton-le-Moor box.

Fringes to South Humberside at Bessacarr Junction and Thorne Junction.
Bessacarr Junction is to the south of Doncaster and Beckingham signal box fringes directly to Doncaster, although there is still a crossing keeper located in Finningley signal box near Doncaster.
At Thorne Junction, the line from Doncaster to Hull bears left, leaving the up and down fast lines heading towards Scunthorpe. The track then forms into double track prior to Thorne North before entering the sim. There are several crossing keepers located along this line: Medge Hall and Godnow Bridge being the two main ones.
