Basford Hall

Interposing 'BLOK' at BH106 will force all trains from Madeley to enter on the Down Slow; similarly interposing 'BLOK' at BH105 will force trains to enter on the Down Fast.

Trains entering from Basford Hall Yard will enter on the Up Departure No.2 line. The train will pull up to the stop board and call for permission to pass the stop board. No train can enter from Basford Hall Up Departure unless this line is clear.

Trains which have been routed via either the Up Arrival No.1 or No.2 or the Up Loop on Sorting Sidings North, and are timetabled through to Basford Hall Junction will reappear on the respective Up Departure No.1 or No.2 and Up Neck. As with trains entering, they will phone for permission to pass the stop board.

A penalty of 50 points is applied if you allow multiple trains to approach Signal BH64 at the same time.

Trains entering Basford Hall Yard do not require a phone call.

It is not possible to have a train reverse behind Signal BH20 and route from signals BH58, BH60 and BH62 onto the Up Fast. This is due to required flank locking.

Take care regulating traffic towards Madeley, particularly if trains are using alternative lines to that booked. Trains cannot be switched from Fast to Slow until Norton Bridge, 18 miles away, and from Slow to Fast until Stafford, 23 miles away. This is particularly relevant if chained to Staffordshire.

Trains timetabled to Basford Hall SSN / SSM, and then further locations must be routed via the Down Fast or Down Slow Independent lines towards Sorting Sidings North panel. Only trains which are timetabled to Basford Hall Down Arrival may be routed into the Down Arrival line.
