Gresty Lane

The approach track on the Up Main will show an approaching train from as far back as Signals CE142, CE144, CE146, CE147, CE150 or CE152 if the approaching train is routed through to Gresty Lane. There is a good chance that replacing the Slot, GL1, or Signal GL2 will cause an ACOA.

Old Gresty Lane (985, 1990 and 2007 Eras)

Routes from GL26 and GL25 are Opposing Locking Omitted, allowing both signals to remain off.

When routing towards Salop Goods Junction, Signal GL41 will only show a Green aspect when a route has been set through Salop Goods Junction and signals cleared.

Signal GL58R is part of Nantwich’s starting signal, and the section from Nantwich to GL58 is rather short. For trains not booked to stop at Nantwich, it is therefore advisable to start lowering Willaston level Crossing when Line Clear has been requested from Nantwich.

Shunt routes (and associated slots) must be set counter sequentially. A wrong direction move from Salop Goods needs signals GL39, GL38, GL35 and then the slot set in that order.

There is no wrong direction route onto the Down Goods (To Sorting Sidings North) from signal GL17.

The Down Salop towards Salop Goods and both lines towards Sorting Sidings North are bi-directional for shunt movements. Acceptance slots are provided for moves towards Gresty Lane on the Down Salop and Up Goods, and a slot request on the Up Goods. Wrong-direction slots cannot be granted unless the block is at normal.

New Gresty Lane (2015 Era)

There are no swinging overlaps on Gresty Lane, including setting an onward route. When shunting, this will mean a lot of waiting for overlaps to time out.

The route GL9003 to GL9009 will require you to first set a route from GL9009. Once set, you can route from GL9003 to GL9009.

Signal GL9007 is not fitted with TORR.
