Areas that cannot be simulated

Due to Conflicts of Interest it may not be possible for SimSig Simulations to be produced of the following areas:

  • Ashford
  • Liverpool Street (GE lines to Marks Tey and Stansted North Jn)
  • Slough New (replaced by TVSC, was Paddington to West Drayton)
  • Swindon B (Didcot Note: existing sim pre-dates exclusion)
  • Yoker (North Clydeside electric network)
  • Thames Valley Signalling Centre (Reading area, West Drayton to Paddington; located at Didcot)

  • Dartford / North Kent (at Ashford)
  • West of Scotland Signalling Centre (Glasgow Central at the moment but will include Paisley, Motherwell and Cathcart)
  • Colchester to Clacton and Norwich incl Ipswich
  • East Kent (Margate, Canterbury etc)

Westinghouse (Westcad)

  • Lincoln
  • West Midlands (Saltley*, Coventry*)
  • East Midlands (Trent*, Derby*)
  • South Wales (Newport, Rhymney, Vale of Glamorgan, Taff, Shropshire) (Will also include Cardiff, Radyr and Abercynon eventually.)

* The Saltley, Coventry, Trent and Derby simulations are based on their respective PSBs, as opposed to the new control centres.

Note that some simulations pre-date the TRE simulations of the same areas and as such are not necessarily subject to the conflict of interest. Also, some areas simulate the older signalling rather than the modern layout and are thus also exempt. This list is not definitive or up-to-date for various reasons including contract confidentiality.
