I've running Stafford Simulation quietly with a 2015 timetable, I've set the sim up as Delays in Crewe and scenario as One of Those Days, I would like to make trains a little more late that what the sim is current having them so I into F3 - Failures I went and moved the Train Delay Probability and Train Delay Amount from around the medium to the far right high zone. I would expect that most trains would be 15-20+ more mins late. Yet under F8 Simplifier for Stafford and Colwich many of the trains are between 0-20 late with 6K02 over 100+ Late and some early trains.
Is there an actual setting or recommendation so that I could have late trains 20+ Late example?

What does every setting relate to?

As I'm confused between these two settings in F3-Failures area Train Delay Probability and Train Delay Amount which do both need to be high or is one needed to be high like Train Delay Probability? I know what the other settings are but these two are confusing.

Train Delay Probability, is the probability that trains will be delayed, the higher the slider the more often that trains will be delayed.

Train Delay Amount, is how long a train will be delayed for, the higher the slider, the longer the delay.

Thank you Headshot, So if I ran a scenario and I want trains late entering the sim I would use Train Delay Probability and set it to high which as you say delay trains. Train Delay Amount would when trains are stationary at a station? and then be further delayed?

No!

Probability is just how many instances of trains being delayed. Amount is how long the delays will be.

Looking at the original post I would point out that it is a probability of late running, not a guarantee. When I have set things up like you did I have always had a mix of very late running through to the inevitable early arrival of a freight train or two - usually in just the wrong relative position for a delayed express (going west from Newbury for example). I guess it is in fact very much like what happens in real life. Even on a really bad day some trains will slip through close to time.

I'm referring myself back to this post to re-adjust my brain slightly... I would like quiet a lot of late running trains in a particular scenario 'one of those days' with 'delays in Crewe'.. I also adjusted Train Delay Probability to high pretty much in hope trains will be late but only a handful are late 20+, the rest between 5 and 15 late. Have I done this wrong or do I just need to keep messing with it?
I did tried this recently on a Motherwell Host I set Train Delay Probability to in between Medium-High and had a delightful list of every train 15+ late with some over and hour 60+ late. I'm just wondering if the Stafford sim won't allow so many late services.

One for the wish list - A scenario purely for late running trains set at 20+ Late variable on each train??
