Evening all,

Two things from while I was playing on the Peterborough / KX chain on 11-November.

1. I had a situation by which a KX-bound VT (Virgin Trains) working booked for Platform 3 was on the approach to Peterborough but was running late. Also approaching Peterborough - which was under my control - at the same time was a Class 365 EMU (2P00, 0522 KGX-PBO) from Kings Cross and this was also booked for Platform 3.

I made the decision to route the Class 365 EMU into Platform 1, which was vacant, and thereby allow the VT working to use Platform 3 as booked so I accordingly set a route for 2P00 from Signal 423 to Platform 1 only for the EMU driver to ring in complaining of a wrong route. I can find nothing in the Wiki for Peterborough sim to clarify whether or not electrification covers Pkatform 1 at Peterborough so I was surprised that the EMU wouldn't go in especially as I had allowed another train (1P61, 0540 PBO-KGX) to leave from Platform 1 earlier in the game and that was also a Class 365 EMU. Anyone know why 2P00 refused Platform 1? The host - Edgemaster - tried changing the WTT but that was no good either.

2. This one involved 5P64 (0656 P'bro Nene CS - Peterborough). A look at the schedule for this one advises that it uses Peterborough Yard and, in the 'platform' column for Peterborough Yard it says "SHUN". Accordingly I set a route from Peterbrough Platform 4 through to Signal 79 and then a route from Signal 79 to the SHUNt Line for Peterborough Yard but the driver stopped at Signal 79 and refused the set route as it was wrong. In the F2 list it said "Unsuitable Traction". Where should I have sent 5P64 therefore? I attach the schedule for it.

The timetable in use was Noel Young's "Peterborough 15th October 2009 (0445)" TT, version 2.0.0

Cheers,
Dave

You can't normally signal passenger trains into the yard - they will call you that it's a goods line, on which you can reply to accept the route onto a goods line. Or is this option unavailable in the phonecall dialog?

I don't know what F2 will display in that case, you can better look at the actual phonecall. See also https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/49051.

About platform 1, trains will refuse that route if they are too long. Again, the phonecall (not F2) should explain the problem. What is the length of 2P00?

Looks like the 5P64 Shunt move has been previously flagged here: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/47045

Platform 1 at Peterborough can only hold a 4 car Class 365 or 317, 2P00 is an 8 car Class 365 therefore it would be unable to fit into the platform, where as 1P61 would as it is a 4 Car Class 365.

The shunt line is not electrified at all, it should be possible to ammend the timetable to use UP Depart (which is electrfied) as the reversal point.
