I have recently procured a new Lenovo computer with Windows 10 and it saddens me to say that whilst playing Stockport simulation this afternoon a familiar and long lasting/familiar problem occurred. Whilst trying to use the bottom scroll bar the simulation comes up with the message that the simulation is not responding and the various toolbars go grey and will not let me do anything apart from closing the program down. This is most annoying as the problem is not a new one for Sim Sig users and has been going on for several years now and we never seem to be able to get it resolved.
This has now happened with a Sony computer and an HP Envy computer that I have used over the years and does not therefore appear to be common to a particular computer.

I am sure I cannot be the only one that this happens too and seem to think others apart from the ones who have reported it are just ignoring the problem and restarting the simulation and saying nothing.
Can anything be done to resolve this saga as it must be one of the longest running problems in Sim Sig history.

Geoff, toggle the smooth scrolling option in the options menu, and let us know if you are still experiencing an issue.

EDIT

To add https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/48985 with a note from GeoffM. It's not a problem we are ignoring.

I will try this and report back but please remember this does not happen every time...

Further to your post I have checked and that smooth scrolling option is ticked and I presume that remains constant every time I start a sim up similar to other options so it would appear that does not seem to have cured the problem.

Smooth scrolling has always been enabled in SimSig. The option to turn it off has recently been provided. So you want to turn it off and then see if you run into further issues.

I was a serial "victim" of this issue. I believe it is related to graphics drivers and/or power managemen drivers (Intel Speedstep).

However I can confirm that unticking the smooth scrolling option has worked in my case so I hope it will in yours and others too.

Guys, I can confirm that this does seem to have cured the problem for now. I have now been playing Stockport for over 4 hours sim time and the problem has not surfaced again.
Perhaps a mention in the Wiki page I.e. frequently asked questions may not go amiss. Sadly the Wiki link is not working at this time so I cannot do this.....

Once again thanks for the responses.
