forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, but I can't find it.

I have just started looking at oxted, after a visit to the spa valley railway! Using the default timetable, 5l94 starts from croydon and terminates at hurst green, to form service 2l94. However I am not sure how to handle it. I just sent 5l94 along the down line and it successfully arrived at hurts green and became 2l94. However this prevented 5l01 from leaving oxted, as 2l94 doesn't depart until 0600 and 5l01 should have gone through at 0556. Also there is no starter signal in the up direction on the down platform, and the shunt signal 306 at oxted does not allow routing onto the up line. so i had to lock the points and tell 2l94 to PSAD - not really the done thing for a passenger service !!

So what should I have done with 5l94 ? Should he have gone on to signal 312 and reversed into the up platform (if so I guess the timetable needs amending) Or should I have held 5l01 at signal 7, to allow 2l94 to enter platform 2 at oxted from signal 306, and then get on the right track from signal 10 ?

Regards
Alan

It should be reversed at 312 - the move is described on the Wiki at http://www.SimSig.co.uk/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=usertrack:mans:oxted:oxted_operation
