OK I am slightly stumped on some diagrams, I am ending up with a few DMUs at Ludo Town with no onward workings, as the outward DMU turns are less. Did these go to the DS, or possibly couple up to another DMU that arrives?

the passenger 1982 WTT on 2d53.co.uk differs slightly to the 1981 summer TT, but no joins or shunts to C.S moves are in there.

Did DMUs stable overnight in Ludo Town C.S or Ludo Junction C.S? I've used Glan Conwy FD for the C.S but my second ECS from there doesn't work, it just says in the analyser that it never runs. Is it programmed to count what sets come in and out?

Did DMUs stable at Bangor C.S by any chance? There is one DMU to Bangor that arrives at 0843, but there's no other DMU turn until 2012 from Bangor. Would this sit in the C.S all day?

I did read that all loco turns ran around at Ludo Town Down C.S, this also happened in 1981? Shame if so as I looked forward to extensive use of the GF and running locos around, but I suppose there is no harm in a bit of artistic license!

Llan junction had a small depot which stabled units and some locos (i beleive locos still stabled here in the early 80s).
units could stable over until their next turn in Llan town C.S. or join to another unit, in leiu of any accurate info, improvise, as long as the overall train service is accurate thats what matters.

run rounds were conducted in the C.S. at llan town, but theres no reason for you not to use the GF if it floats your boat. dont forget locos can be released via the GFs at holyhead too!

Bangor would have stabled units overnight (this occurs with 1 unit in mine)but there are no fuelling or servicing facilities.

re: llan Jcn C.S. - i have three units stabling there all have validated fine using LJ260 as the rev point?
note: in 1981 Llan Jcn had an LIP, C.S. and T.C. all entering at the same point.

Got the ECS's working fine now, I terminated the ECS at Junction rather than Town (I.E Quay Siding - Junction - Deganwy - Junction), fixed it now :)

Thanks for all the help guys, just about finished. More trains that the modern (Summer Saturday turns, more shunt moves too) but only two freight trains, which are on the 2d53 site, and both are 'SO'.

Question, I plan to add some 1981 tours in that ran, a mix of about 3 or 4 to add variety each time you play it, so I only want 1 out of 3 or 4 to run each time. Adding the 'must not run' rules gets complex but I believe the 'mutually exclusive' rule is designed for this sort of thing. Can someone explain to me in detail how I would use this rule please? I haven't done it before.

Can't wait to test it now! Plenty of Class 25, 40 and 47 loco hauled action :)

I hope your 1981 timetable also has the various 1st generation DMUs formations in. One thing I remember about the NWC during this period was on occasions you could have a 9 car DMU formation with 3 different classes of DMUs all working together in one train. Usually seen on summer Saturdays, however I remember changing trains at Rhyl whilst traveling to visit family in Abergele. The unit we caught at Rhyl was a 9 car set comprising of Cl.120,Cl.101 & Cl.108(3 three car sets). Time to take your tuning fork out as the seats, luggage racks & light bulbs in the carriage ceilings were all rocking & shaking. One word Hellfire!

The way I set up days of week on Carlisle (1979 TT) was:
Mon runs 20% of time;
Tue runs 25% of time, must not run if Mon runs;
Wed runs 33% of time, must not run if Mon runs, must not run if Tue runs;
Thu runs 50% of time, must not run if Mon runs, or Tue runs, or Wed runs;
Fri runs 100%, must not run if Mon runs, or Tue, or wed or Thu runs;

Might seem the long way round, but at least it works reliably.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

My understanding after a conversation with Clive is that it depends how you set up the TDs of the trains. The sim reads for entering trains by time of entry and then alphabetical for trains entering at the same time. If you set up as 0X00MON, 0X00TUE, 0X00WED, 0X00THU, 0X00FRI, by that understanding the alpha testing would actually read the trains as 0X00FRI, 0X00MON, 0X00THU, 0X00TUE, 0X00WED.

I set up the day-of-the-week seed in the Euston 1980 TT as 5Z21FRI (20%), 5Z21MON (25%), 5Z21THU (33%), 5Z21TUE (50%) and 5Z21WED (no probability set) along with a full XOR list and that gave an even spread over 40 starts to the sim.

PS The seed in the Carlisle 1980 TT has been changed since Andy wrote it in, and is now a LE entering at Kingmoor rather than the mythical Petteril Bridge move. The seed TDs are now 0M86A1MON, 0M86A2TUE, 0M86A3WED, 0M86A4THU, 0M86A5FRI at 20/25/33/50/100% and again that gives an even spread over a large number of tests.
