Does anyone know where I can find details of all railway fatalities in the UK, listed by year? The data would need to include the locations. Does such a document even exist? Thanks. Log in to reply |

Network Rail also come within FOI from 1 April, though in reality they've tended to behave as though they were for some considerable time now. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply The following user said thank you: TimTamToe |

" said:" said:That's what I was unsure of about RAIB whether they were still notified of suicides etc even if no investigation needed. Then I thought of BTP who I would think definitely would have complete list. Hadn't realised Network Rail were already acting as they were covered by FOI so thanks for that Peter." said:I'm not sure if the RAIB would have a complete set- aren't they only notified if a fatality is something other than trespass or suicide?Does anyone know where I can find details of all railway fatalities in the UK, listed by year? Is there any data in particular you're looking for? Log in to reply |

There is also the Office of Rail Regulation in their safety role who should know, possibly more so than the RAIB who do not investigate every death on the railway. The issue may be the cost involved in compiling the information you want. Log in to reply |

Someone's already asked a similar question back in July 2012 and the answer indicates that the information is published in the annual report. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Last edited: 08/01/2015 at 18:39 by Peter Bennet Log in to reply |

If not then I suggest waiting until April and making a Freedom of Information request to Network Rail. The Western Route RSIM team will certainly hold the figures you seek." said:I am specifically looking for data on how many fatalities ocurred between London Paddington and Reading last year.Does anyone know where I can find details of all railway fatalities in the UK, listed by year?
