looking at OpenTrainTimes I see no trains heading towards Fenchurch Street instead
there using the NLL from Barking. are they going to Liverpool Street or somewhere
in between? the trains are running with class 9 ID's and 6T60 is near West Ham.

edit might make interesting timetables for relevent sims.

Yes, according to RTT.

And as if by magic they reappear here.

The closure is listed in the National Rail Current engineering work list for this weekend.

IIRC trains on the LTS going to Liverpool Street are allocated 1B80 to 1B99, 2B80 to 2B99 etc, to avoid clashes with other trains using Liverpool Street normally. That caters for the normal late night traffic as there are only a handful of services. But when there's an all day closure like today, there aren't enough IDs so they use class 9 instead and use the full 00 to 99 range.

The other oddity today was a Romford - Ilford block. Buses were avoided by a special Romford - Upminster service (normally shut Sundays) and then Upminster - Liverpool St.
