I have got some photos of the St. Pancras line taken shortly after the new Bedford was opened, but I haven't got round to scanning them yet. I must have around 1,000+ photos altogether & only scanned about 100 so far. Watch this space. Log in to reply |

 47702 at Stratford TMD on 271294. This was one of 2 Cl.47/7s used at this time to haul new southern region units from Derby to Strawberry Hill T&RSMD as they were modified for the higher brake pressure required for these movements along with converted BGs used as match wagons.  47572 'Ely Cathedral' rounds the curve at Channelsea, Stratford heading towards Temple Mills East Junction working 1P37 Norwich - Stratford. At this time due to engineering work trains from Norwich & Harwich were diesel hauled & terminated at stratford. The loco & stock would go ECS to Temple Mills Yard to run round. 47572 'Ely Cathedral' was the last locmotive to have a CEM at Stratford Major Depot. It was under going its CEM when I went to Liverpool Street regional Control in 1990. was sent to Stratford TMD for a day whilst training & took my video camera. I remember filiming this loco in the main works having been raised off its bogies. A manager saw me & came rushing out of his office as he thought I was a train spotter who had sneaked in. Once I'd told him who I was & that I'd been sent down from the Regional Control he was happy to let me carry on filming. Wish I'd kept that video tape, would have made some good viewing today.
