Operating Notes

Huddersfield Station

Platforms 1, 4 and 8 are permissive

Note that the bay platforms are exceptionally short; see the platform lengths page for details.

Huddersfield Barrow Crossing

Huddersfield has a barrow crossing to the north end of the station that has a white light to indicate to the user that it is safe to cross. This light is interlocked with the signalling and must be proved to be out before the signals will show proceed aspects. As a result, when routes are set over the barrow crossing there will be a delay before the signal shows a proceed aspect.

BY1060 Slot on 742

In order for trains to be routed from Signal 742 towards Penistone, you must request the slot from Barnsley signaller.

2210 Release

2210 release is the Ground Frame for the single siding at Marsden. It operates the points into the siding, the shunt signal associated with 703 signal and a hand signal to allow trains to leave the siding.

Huddersfield Sidings

Huddersfield Sidings comprises four dead end sidings which can accommodate approximately 11 two-car 158 units. As a result the sidings operate like reality, once they are full you will be unable to send anything else in until something comes out!

Diggle Junction

As Diggle Jn box uses a mechanical lever frame, one-click routes are enabled on all signals that have only one route: simply click the signal to set the route.
