Hot Keys centre the simulation view at a preset location. Numbers 0-9 and Shift+[Letter] can be used as location hotkeys. The actual numbers and letters available in a particular sim should be listed in its manual. For example, in the Swindon A and B sim, pressing Shift+D centres the sim on Didcot Station.
As a rule, numbers will step sequentially from left to right across the Sim in roughly equal amounts.
Note that setting Caps Lock to On is irrelevant here.
