I'd certainly be interested in getting going with this. According to the website it's done in PHP and MySQL. Thanks for those screen grabs Peter, makes for interesting reading.

Everything worked before, the main problem was the database which got stuck all the time and scenario's had to be reset manually. And even then it got stuck many times.

UPDATE: Spoken to Maarten today and told him what we (Karl and I) had planned. Our plan is: get the game as it is back up and running and then have a seperate development game going so we can work on it without affecting the main game before then releasing the update into the stable version. Maarten is happy with that and we'll be talking more tomorrow hopefully. Log in to reply |

As someone who used to (like many, no doubt) spend too much time playing TOC , good news that there may yet be life in the sim yet! On a more serious note, whilst I am not a pro programmer by any means, more than happy to help with debugging databases (or trying to!) etc etc if it helps get things moving again. I was a TOC Game player, too. Sadly, I left the game some time ago, and when I tried to go back, I found it's abandoned... :( I'm very pleased if you can run it again!

The core files are still stored on my server (for the Domain Name already mentioned) However, during the transfer from the previous provider the MySQL database was not included A backup copy of the original is required DELETED Log in to reply |

Well everyone this was an historic day. Luke and myself successfully managed to get a buggy version of the game going today in an alpha stage. We must stress that although this is good progress, the game is still in the very early stages. For those of you who played previously. We only have one working scenario "Greater London" though when we release the game we hope to have many more scenarios available for your enjoyment. I haven't seen Luke or Sam in a while. Both are busy with the new course they started in September. I will have to have a go at looking at the code myself and see what I can do.

Ooo...seems very intresting. And I was just about to embark on coding a game from scratch myself. Anyways, looking forward to this game... If there's anything I can do...I can do PHP and MySQL...so if you want some help... ;) Ive also got weeks of nothing todo - so im basically free anytime during the day on any day....
