Overview
Three windows initially appear when starting a scrollable sim.
These are:
Messages window , displays messages;
View window , the main window for setting routes (more than one can be opened)
New 'View' windows and the overview window can be opened by clicking Menu-> Show
The term "View" refers to the main board or layout panel, usually affixed to the wall in front of the signaller. A small portion of it may be visible on his workstation, and it is this workstation view that SimSig attempts to emulate.

Display Details
Keyboard
The keyboard can be used in three main ways:
- Accessing Menus via the Function Keys (F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F10, F11 currently)
- Entering New or changed TDs (Train Descriptions);
- Use of letters as short-cut keys.
