Introduction

Warrington PSB controls 20 miles of the West Coast Main Line from just north of Weaver Junction to Standish, through the large towns of Warrington and Wigan. There’s a high density of junctions in the area, with important secondary lines from Chester and two lines each from Liverpool and Manchester meeting the WCML , including a double triangle junction with the Liverpool & Manchester railway. All of these connections see good use, and you’ll have to be alert to keep main line traffic moving around trains crossing to and from the branches, generally at low speed.

The simulation also includes the boxes at Eccles and Astley, which bridge the gap to Manchester Piccadilly, and completing SimSig’s simulation of the Liverpool & Manchester railway- the first inter-city railway in the world. Also included is the box at Arpley Jn, which handles freight traffic to Fiddlers Ferry power station and south Liverpool.

The area sees a wide mix of inter-city, regional and local passenger services, along with a significant amount of freight traffic on the WCML and Liverpool lines. Add in the Royal Mail terminal at Dallam, and what more variety could you ask for?

Warrington is a payware simulation- to play beyond a short demo period requires the purchase of a license from the Products area .
